Shownotes at http://ppsreview.blogspot.com/.Daniel the Malaysian Idol Winner / Maxis customer service / Hustler's dating agency / Lim Kit Siang's blog / Applying to Oxford University / Chicks at a kindergarten concert Download the podcast (alternative download) (20.6 MB) Music provided by Lokee (contact them by email). Malaysian Idol - Is Daniel a fair winner? Jocelyn says she isn't trying to justify his victory - but I think she does. Jessy likes Daniel but also recognises that Danies isn't the best singer. Little Girl in a Reverie had a post about cadavers which we couldn't call up during recording, so I made a comment about her decision to delete her NS diary instead. Rajan Rishyakaran is upset with Maxis. The Hustler is trying to start a dating agency. We're skeptical about it. Lim Kit Siang has a blog (on Blogspot) that has recently been spammed. I had said that Chew Mei Fun didn't have a website - my mistake, she does have one, and it's fairly good, I must add. There have been some posts about applying to Oxford University. I add my take about why it's good to go there. An innocent looking post by Willwolf about a Kindergarten concert turns strange three quarters of the way down.

One cool thing he didn't mention in his podcast is that you can integrate your photos with Google Earth. Danny Foo blogged about the new PPS homepage design. Pat and Emily Yoon have a frank, never-ending, discussion about Malaysian Idol. Each have their own thoughts. Silencer blogged about Selangor's victory over Perak in the FA Cup final. Said it was even better than Malaysian Idol. MENJ (sorry, Elfie) talks about arabic classes and his hoped-for podcast. He also says he doesn't try to be controversial, but he writes from the heart. Chea Yee runs a blog about education, for educationists, focusing on young children. Nilesh Babu blogged about his eyes going out on him. A sign of being mature before his years, I told him. Peter Tan, who helped organise the meet-up, is currently very keen to promote the role of hospices, as well as independent living. DJ Cybersonique won a pair of shoes from Afdlin Shauki. Frostier met a noob and stomped him good. Bully. Fat Cat Lim wrote about the press conference for the Asian Game Developer's Summit. I also had an interview with Tariq but I got something wrong technically, and so can't use his recording. :(( Sorry, Tariq.

He's a producer and his latest project on TV is Impian Illyana (more up to date episode details at Utusan Malaysia). (By the way, this week's episodes are written by Dzof.) Yvonne Foong suffers from neurofibrosis and is making an appeal for donations. Somebody is looking for Sharon Goh. Who he is and why he's looking for her, we don't know. Jeemee has T-Shirts for Sale. Shaolin Tiger jumps in to defend Malaysia against Xiaxue, claws a-clawing. Darth Perfidious (an ex-guest on the PPS Review) also comments on the issue. It seems there can be no Malaysian flags on cars entering Singapore. When Ping mentioned Singaporeans as the worst tourists, Dzof remembered The Scarfer's post on differences between tourists and travellers. Dzof advises Ping to check out Uptown. Tun Mahathir was invited to speak at a SUHAKAM conference and he lashed out against the western world. Again. It seems there have been a spate of laptop thefts in Uptown. The Kensington lock. The Visitor asks for help to fund his short film. Ping gives him some honest advice. Lainie blogs about "Tip Menjadi Individu Menarik", a book that advises women to "not debate" and "not disagree" with your man and that "Men like it when you speak in a child's voice". And more.

Minishorts had her articles plagarised, so with some help, she changed the hotlinked photos. Celebrating unity of Malaysians through mamak stalls. Nasi Kandar Pelita has opened a branch in Chennai. Totoro is an overgrown yet cuddly Japanese anime character. Errolyn and her adventures at a hotel. The Malaysian A1 Grand Prix team has a blog. When you see a girl wearing a flag, what do you think of? But I guess it depends on the girl. E likes Kevin Zahri. Kenny Sia lists his Babes of Malaysian Blogs. Lots of bloggers saw Richard Stallman speak at UM recently, including Sashi and Shaolin Tiger. Unfortunately, he didn't sing his Free Software Song. We need music for intros and outros. Thirty seconds of music should be enough, but if someone wants us to, and we like it, we'll even play the whole song. We're easy like that. Musicians we like (not necessarily both of us at the same time): Josh Groban, Debbie Gibson, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Juwita Suwito, Amir Yusoff, Sheila Majid, Camelia, KRU, Fauziah Latif. More musicians: Alanis Morrisette, Ben Folds, Boomkat, The Corrs, Fiona Apple, Garbage, Huey Lewis and the News, Jason Lo, Lea Salonga, New Radicals, Paul McCartney, Squeeze, Suzanne Vega, Oasis, Travelling Wilburys, OAG.

Download the podcast (15.7 MB) or subscribe to iTunes. After a rollicking post last weekend with Darth Perfidious (thanks, Perf Daddy), Errolyn is back. Dzof immediately distracts all by saying "Sexy", and Errolyn agrees. We start talking about somebody who got lost walking from KLCC to the British Council and completely mampus-up the prepared show order by doing so. Again, many thanks to all that wrote. Notices: Project Petaling Street now has an automated RSS aggregator in beta, so if your blog has RSS, you don't have to manually ping anymore. Somebody emailed us asking the following. Hi guys, good effort on putting out the pps review podcast. I have a small problem subscribe this podcast using ITunes. I use this url "http://feeds.feedburner.com/PPSReview" is this correct? The answer to this question is in two parts: Yes, http://feeds.feedburner.com/PPSReview is the correct feed to use at the moment to subscribe to the podcast. To subscribe to this podcast using iTunes either drag its URL into your podcasts library, or type the URL into Subscribe to Podcast under the Advanced menu. I also tried to get the podcast into the official iTunes directory, but no luck - you need to be a member of the Apple website to do so, and only people with credit cards with mailing addresses from the US, most of Europe, Singapore and Australia can be members. Strange, but true.

You can now download this episode directly (8.85MB). There is a (very slightly) better sounding version in stereo available here (17.7MB). This is the first in (hopefully) a series of podcasts that focus on blogs that have pinged Project Petaling Street. Truth is, I've long wanted to do a review, simply because so many blogs ping PPS and because they disappear so quickly and it's a shame. It'd be nice to share the ones that catch my eye. Or make me laugh out loud. Or get me angry. Here are some links on what we discussed in this episode.
