Steve McElroy joins us for another episode, where we talk about The Evil Dead remake, Zane's displeasure with horror movies, Planet of the Apes, Words with Friends, the definition of the word haberdasher and much, much more. This podcast is guaranteed to be the favorite episode of everyone named Charles. Shop at Amazon.com through this link to help support our show!

 #71 - Bugsy Malone | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2634

Special guest Steve McElroy picked the 1976 film Bugsy Malone for our latest family film review episode. This is one of the weirdest films we've reviewed yet, telling a loose adaptation story of gangster Bugs Moran with a cast of all children. And did we mention it was a musical - albeit, one where only adults (mainly Paul Williams) provide the singing voices? Oh, and it stars pre-fame Scott Baio and Jodie Foster. What'd we think of it? Tune in to find out! Shop at Amazon.com through this link to help support our show!

 #68.5 - A Talking Cat!?! Revisited | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 658

About 10 minutes of last week's A TALKING CAT!?! episode was accidentally lost, so Justin and Zane hopped on Skype and recreated that segment, plus added some new musings on this godawful excuse for a family film. If you were disappointed we didn't have any clips of Eric Roberts drinking milk like a cat or discussion of the potential talking animal casting for David DeCoteau's next bowel movement, A TALKING PONY!?!, tune in to this mini-episode!

 #68 - A Talking Cat!?! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1850

David DeCoteau has continued his assault on family films with another talking animal movie, A TALKING CAT!?!, and we're here to give you the lowdown on this mind-bogglingly awful production. Eric Roberts (of Julia's brother fame) provides the voice - sounding suspiciously like he did the voiceover via Skype in about 20 minutes - of a talking cat named Duffy that's a "human whisperer" that brings together two families over their mutual love of website development. It's not as bad as A Christmas Puppy, but there's enough poor excuses for filmmaking found in this movie that we didn't even manage to cover everything in this podcast. But despite it's many, many shortcomings, could A TALKING CAT!?! be worth 90 minutes of your unlimited Netflix streaming? Tune in to find out! Shop at Amazon.com with this link and support our show!

#29 - The Importance of Being Ernest Goes To Jail (Repeat!) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2967

#67 - The Importance of Being Ernest Rides Again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1714

This week, we're reviewing one of the rarest Ernest P. Worrell movies ever made, Ernest Rides Again, and find it to be one of the most original and entertaining Ernest movies. However, most of our appreciation may be due to the awesome opening title song "There Once Was A Man Named Worrell." Plus, we talk about the new awesome official Ernest P. Worrell Facebook page and drop hints at a possible future special guest! Shop at Amazon.com with this link and support our show!

 #66 - Mangumgate 2013 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1428

After discovering they both went to see Jeff Mangum live and didn't know until after the fact, Justin and Zane have a chat about music. Also, they delve into the deep internet mythos that is Mangumgate, decide to read The Diary of Anne Frank and much more. Also, just a quick reminder: we're filmmakers as well and you can buy our movies on DVD for the low price of $4.50 right here at Hodgepodcast.com! And buy some stuff from our sort-of-sponsor Amazon.com to help keep this show running!

 #65 - Suspiria in the Woods | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2383

Finally, we return to our You Gotta See series, with Zane making Justin watch Cabin in the Woods and Zane having to watch Suspiria so Justin can get the DVD Zane borrowed from back after a year. During the course of the show, we veer off into countless other unrelated topics, including a special announcement about our favorite fictional film character, Ernest P. Worrell. Also, we're going to be doing the show bi-monthly instead of weekly, except for certain months. But we'll give you longer episodes as a result. Thanks for listening!
