The Deucecast Movie Show

It's become an annual rite of passage... the films that the Deucecast likes to call "Lumps of Coal", those being the worst movies seen over the last 12 months.  Films like "Justice League" and "Colonia" and "Terminator Genysis" and even "Pootie Tang" (thanks Pinky!) have all worn the banner of shame.  Which films wear it this year? Find out when Mikey and Dave bring in #TwitterlessDrEarl, and invite in Friend of the Show and Miss Independent himself Jeremy Burgess to talk about the... movies that just aren't for the guys. First up, the birthday films, including the good (Taken, She's All That, Whiplash), the bad (Bride Wars, Boyhood, Paul Blart) and the ugly (Braddock: Mission in Action III) that came out in the month of January in year's past. It's that time of year once again, when The Deucecast Movie Show hosts are feeling generous and ready to dole out a dose of Christmas spirit to the world. But joining Mikey, Dave, and #Twitterless Dr Earl, is Friend of the Show, back for his fourth Christmas Gifts episode, "No Just" Clay Shaver! A little chit chat and catch up on movies and documentaries, and then the guys start handing out the merth and merry of Christmas gifts. Amongst those opening Christmas gifts underneath the Deucecast Movie Show tree include Disney head honcho Bob Iger... busybody Tiffany Haddish... a Netflix Oscar of major proportions... Jennifer Garner getting more serious... Rian Johnson a real non-sci fi franchise... and much, much more. Oh, and Clay has a new idea for the masses along the lines of his legendary 30 year reboot rule.

Sometimes you watch a movie and are riveted, sometimes you watch a movie and are sad, sometimes you watch a movie and it makes you scared... and then sometimes you are just satisfied because the movie is delightful. Its frickin' delightful. It's a Frickin Movie Delight. Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl welcome in Friend of the Show "No Just" Clay Shaver, to a talk about that type of movie... but first, the inaugural "Jump to Conclusions" segment (stolen unabashedly from the ESPN Campus Conversation podcast)! The guys discuss the future box office of Avengers Endgame... the future awards for A Star is Born... and how good will Aquaman actually be? Then, the movie and movie things that just delighted everyone in studio, including musicals, boxing, interning, The Jokering, and even Zac Efron. Plus, the controversy of "Last Christmas" continues...

Thanksgiving is now over and the Holiday season is in full swing!  So Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl run through the best of what's coming up with a winter movie preview. But first, since the regular run-down of the latest seen movies isn't until later in the month, the guys give their quick thoughts on recent releases, including Widows, Nutcracker & the Four Realms, Fantastic Beasts 2 (including a Harry Potter lore discussion), Creed II and more. And then a look at what's coming this winter... movies like a PG-13 rated Deadpool... Eastwood running drugs... more Transformers... J-Lo gets another movie that sounds like the secret of her success... Steve Carell in a narrative based on one of Mikey's favorite docs... a highly anticipated political comedy... Far out man, far out. It's time for the coolest movie podcast around, the hip Mikey Nipp and the baller Dave Dollar, taking on the peachy keen movies of the 1970s! And why wouldn't you want someone in this discussion who grew up in this era... enter the groovy #TwitterlessDrEarl!  And then, for good measure, on the Binder & Binder hotline, its the Spawn of Ryfun, that being the proud son of TyTy Georgia, Garrison! First up, a 1970s version of Box Office Mojo, coming up with the biggest box office hits of the 1970s, those films that scored over $100,000,000 in 1970s dollars. Then, a Top Five list of the guys fave 1970s films, any movie released from January 1, 1970, to December 31, 1979, including classics like The Exorcist... Nashville... Once a year, the crew from The Deucecast Movie Show roll into the Deucecast Studios for one purpose: To record more shows. But beyond that, to say Thank You to the things Mikey, Dave & #TwitterlessDrEarl appreciated the most in 2018. It a very DeuceGiving Thanksgiving. First is catching up with Dr Earl, after his world travels with Doctors Without Borders Doing Borderless Doctor Things, then a quick look ahead to the big Thanksgiving events for everyone. Mikey questions the team on cranberry sauce, Dr Earl gives his choice and Dave balks at all of it. A look ahead at the Thanksgiving movies dropping in the days ahead, while Mikey reviews the new version of The Grinch. Then... pulling out the old school game "Ryan Phillippe", including naming Tom Cruise movies, Al Pacino, Ewan McGregor and more. And then, the annual list of thanks given by the guys to the world, including thanks for Amy Adams in new stuff... John Cena doing more stuff... Tom Cruise doing live stuff... Mikey and Dave take the reins in the studio, this time sans #TwitterlessDrEarl, as he's off in El Salvador Guatemala Ecuador something something to do his doctor thing. So instead the guys invite on the Binder & Binder hotline their newest Friend of the Show, super podcast host author conference coordinator cool guy Terry Weaver to discuss Coming of Age films!  Terry has much to share as they dive into birthday movies, leading into a discussion about both the majesty of Iron Eagle movies and the number of Land Before Time films. Don Bluth comes up as a topic, as well as Hallmark movies and bad Christian cinema... more on the Land Before Time Films... Dave learns the difference in Mitch Gaylord and Jason Gedrick... Denzel gets derailed, leading to Rotten Tomatoes... and a quick Disney discussion on Imagineer McNair Wilson and the future of the parks. Then, diving into the actual topic, the guys talk about Coming of Age films, and their own definitions of them, including films like "Dirty Dancing" and "Jerry Maguire" and "Stand By Me" and more.

It's a monumental night for the 350th Episode of The Deucecast Movie Show (onward to 400!) as Mikey, Dave & #TwitterlessDrEarl talk up scary stuff in the annual Halloween episode! And of course, what better way to usher in the spooky than to invite on Friend of the Show Scaremy "Octo"Burgess to discuss favorite movie haunts. First up, birthday movies... how old is "Gravity"?  Or "Halloween III: Season of the Witch"?  Or even "The Wiz"?? Next, a round of America's favorite movie title game that sometimes premieres on The Deucecast, the one and only "Reel or Unreal", where players have to guess the real movie from a list of mostly fake titles.  Wait, is "Pumpkin Slice Latte" a real movie?  Seriously? Then, the crew talks about their top five favorite movie haunted locations -- not just houses... but woods... spaceships... motels... cabins... next door neighbors... hospitals... towns, states, large bodies of water! Finally, the results of MikeTober '18, where Mikey gives his reviews on the assigned Halloween movies like "Magic" and "The Fog" and "Let the Right One In" and whatever crap #TwitterlessDrEarl assigned.

Another episode of The Deucecast Movie Show commences, as Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl welcome in longtime Friend of the Show Not Remodeling Clay Shaver! First up, a quick pre-ReFlicktion review of new movies "Venom" and "Bad Times at the El Royale", then a compelling round of a Characters Welcome style IMDb with some familiar names and roles. Then we break down some favorite Hometown Movies. Mikey shares his hatred of the city of Detroit early and often, as Clay seeks to defend his beloved city's honor, and his own heart. Then, the guys share their favorite "Hometown Movies", with Dave taking on films made in, and set in South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle... Earl with more Alabama movies... Mikey with his homestate of Oregon... and Clay with the mitten known as Michigan. Along the way, the guys discuss Patrick Dempsey's career... take suggestions for the upcoming "SpirituEarl"... The fall movie season is upon us, as the Oscar contenders slowly begin to roll out. And of course, the one that everyone has seen a trailer for, oh, about 73,833 times, is "A Star is Born" with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. And who better to discuss such a movie than Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl... or better yet, bringing in Friend of the Show, A24 megastar and independent filmmaker, Jeremy Burgess! Mikey and Dave welcome back in the #TwitterlessDrEarl, who actually is a licensed practitioner and real life real doctor in real life!  So it is time to discuss Movie Medical Maladies!  It's those medical moments and injuries on the big screen that favorite characters just seem to walk off... bullets!  CPR!  drug induced seizures! What better way to discuss medical miracles and treatment then bringing in former nurse and current wife o'docter Dude Kaufman... Friend of the Show Jennifer Kaufman. First up, a segment on particular instances in film, including jamming an adrenaline shot into a heart, or slapping your CPR recipient or even digging out a bullet! Then, a top five on hospital and medical drama in movies.  Diseases in the air!  A blue Mary Liz Mastrantonio! Lungs freezing on a mountain! Staying awake for long periods of time! Selective amnesia! Losing hope! Knock out spray! Experimental drugs!  Medical ethics and heart transplants! AIDS!!!! And of course, the opening of UP.

Once again, the Deucecast Movie Show hosts fill your earholes with lots of frivolity, fun times, movies and more.  Over the summer, there was an episode that feature both Friend of the Show Scott Ryfun, and our buddy Steve Glosson, who only could come on for 15 or 20 minutes. There is some great discussion on Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars, and much more. Originally the show was "Heist Movies", but soon goes off the rails.  So enjoy this fun episode full of banter, back n forth, arguments, points made, and Star Wars opinions.
