Geek Actually Podcast show

Geek Actually Podcast

Summary: Do you like to sit around and 'geek out'? What do I mean? You know, sit around with a few friends and talk about you favourite subjects in as much detail as you like, because you all speak the same language. We here at Geek Actually have two great loves: the entertainment industry and the tech industry, so we thought to ourselves, let's geek out and record it. As film geeks and tech geeks, we love our subjects and talk passionately about our stuff. Come and have some fun and join us every Friday. Just a warning though, because we speak candidly about our topics and we approach film and tech reviewing from a "real" point of view, this podcast has to carry an "explicit tag" for infrequent bad language.

Listen or download it here or subscribe to it on iTunes Your Show Notes Follow: What We’ve Been Watching: A collection of other things we’ve been watching during the week. Feature Film Review 1 ‘Dark Shadows’ directed by Tim Burton and written by Seth Grahame-Smith from a story by John August and Seth Grahame-Smith based on the TV series by Dan Curtis. It stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Chloe Grace Moretz, Bella Heathcote and Christopher Lee. An imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection. Source: IMDB Richard's Verdict: Tedious Tim Burton makes the film boring. Watch the trailer here http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/darkshadows/ Feature Film Review 2 ‘Safe’ Written and directed by Boaz Yakin. It stars Jason Statham, Catherine Chan, Chris Sarandon and James Hong. Mei, a young girl whose memory holds a priceless numerical code, finds herself pursued by the Triads, the Russian mob, and corrupt NYC cops. Coming to her aid is an ex-cage fighter whose life was destroyed by the gangsters on Mei's trail. Source: IMDB Our Verdict: It's a rental at best. Decent action scenes can't save the very 80s style cheese. Watch the trailer here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3an3bwdVRsU Lists of Five This week our Lists of Five: Five People Who Are Repeating Themselves... Repeating Themselves. Let's face it, there are a few (if not many) of our favourite show people that are just phoning it in now days, here are five examples. Just a reminder, because we never like to just make things easy on ourselves, our lists are not necessarily top five lists, they are more or a less a list of film recommendations within the theme of the list.
