In this production, we look at the argument offered by politicians Elizabeth Warren in which she lauds the benefits of redistribution of wealth and the so-called "Social Contract". We present this argument in full, and then offer a refutation of her claims that you live thanks to the benefits government gives you, and to which you have already agreed just by existing. Anyone notice that politicians seem to be more and more confident that they can get away with double-speak and hypocrisy? Just two weeks ago, the US government killed a US citizen they accused of "terrorism", killed without trial or a presentation of the evidence against him. Then, a fortnight later, the US government proudly announces that its agents have busted a plot to ASSASSINATE an Arab ambassador. While the Arab ambassador is not seen as a criminal in the eyes of the US politicians, the Iranians claim that Saudi Arabia has been guilty of assisting the US government in its campaign of killings of innocent Muslims in the Middle East. So on the one hand, the US claims it is illegal and bad to try to assassinate a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad, and on the other, the US officials claim that it is a noble thing to kill a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad -- but in the latter case, it is the US government that's doing the killing, so it is alright, we're told. Strange days. We cover it, and ask why people put their faith in this corrupt institution called the state. Unconstitutional Homeland Security "Tsar" Janet Napolitano recently took offense to being called "Big Sis", saying charges that have been leveled against her as an invader of privacy and a breaker of the 4th Amendment are spurious. (Actually, she wasn't so specific as to bother with talking about the 4th Amendment.) We offer her side of the argument, and then offer the facts, which make her arguments look even sillier than they already sound. (Really, at times it's difficult to even comprehend what she is trying to express in extemporaneous dialogue!) If you're just discovering us, you might be inquisitive about what drives the Liberty Conspiracy. We adhere to the principle that the initiation of aggressive force is immoral and leads to a degradation of living standards. We believe that the individual not only has the inherent control over himself and his labor, but can freely engage in exchanges with others sans interference from arbitrary political rules. We note that within the unfortunate existence of the state there have been a few people who have espoused many of our principles, and applied them to contemporary issues and historical events. One of those men is Congressman Ron Paul. Congressman Paul recently sat down to an interview with editors and reporters of the NH Concord Monitor, a hardcore statist/leftist paper. What is remarkable about the interview is that, because the interviewers are so ignorant of economics, history and the US Constitution, their attempts to attack Dr. Paul end up inspiring him to answer in incredible detail, with no malice, and offering the listener (or viewer, this is derives from a Youtube video you can find and link for friends, please do!) a powerful overview of libertarian principles in practice. It is one of the best interviews of a libertarian released this year. Please check it out! In part one of this two-part series, we made the world a better place by revealing the fallacies inherent in "economist" Paul Krugman's belief that an alien invasion, like he believes WWII did, could pull the US economy out of a 'down-time'. We explained that wars don't better people's standards of living, and they redirect usable capital, human and other natural resources into areas that aren't helpful to people's lives (please refer to that audio for the specific reasons as to why it is impossible to calculate value under a government paradigm, and therefore impossible to calculate whether ANY gubment spending is valuable -- no one is allowed to show his preference freely to determine whether he valued it or not, because his money is taken by politicians -- even to fight WWII.) In this show, we go further, into the second part of Krugman's argument, wherein he might argue that we don't understand. He is not just advocating a redirection of money from taxpayers to busy work, building things to combat aliens, he is talking about a FISCAL STIMULUS, wherein the Fed or the Treasury creates money that pumps up demand! "Ahh," he might say. "I have you now, Skywalker! No one has to lose out on one thing in favor of what politicians want made, because there will be enough money to buy the other thing in the first place!" See, he wants the gubment or the Federal Reserve (given by Congress the monopoly on printing unconstitutional money) to pump the economy with Dollars, and he believes this will let people be employed with no disastrous consequences.
