Towncraft Podcast show

n the late 80s and early 90s a vibrant underground music scene emerged in Little Rock. Unlike other towns, Little Rock's scene was composed almost entirely of kids. 14-18 year-olds were booking their own shows, starting record labels, opening record stores and playing with large national acts. In the process they would build a tight-knit, flourishing underground community that existed completely outside of the High School norm and was all their own. The film focuses on the roots of the Little Rock scene, how it changed the lives of those involved, the enormous DIY ethos that has shaped the scene for the past 20 years and how the scene continues to thrive as its pioneers hit their mid-30s. Towncraft will be released in theaters, on DVD and online in the May and June of 2007. A 40 band soundtrack will be released to accompany the film along with a 60 page book of stories from scene expatriates.

Fueled by a near lethal dose of over the counter medication, your hostess with the less-ness, Bionic Ted, somehow manages to weave together a coherent program with the type of spirit that would make Guglielmo Marconi weep. I'm just kidding, it's total shit. The only thing Bionic Ted and Marconi have in common are foot fetishism and a deeply rooted past in Italian Fascism.

The Platform Podcast show

The Platform PodcastJoin Now to Follow

The Platform Podcast is the creation of two best friends — hundreds of miles apart — who wanted to share the music they love (as legally as possible) and the conversations they have. These two friends are the kind of guys whom you would swear have a personal code against listening to bands played on radio stations that transmit at greater than 5 watts. While certainly not above nostalgic or even mainstream pleasures, they know you can get such things from pretty much anywhere at any time. You all know the type. They can talk about great works of literature and film. They can kick your ass at Grand Theft Auto. The key points in their sexual development were Whitesnake videos and Colonel Wilma Deering in Buck Rodgers. You love them anyway. So, don’t think of this as a podcast. It’s more like a form of opt-in auditory vandalism. Download us. Listen. Tell us what you think.
