Sam Vahedi was a born musician, classically trained in instruments ranging from piano to percussion, guitar, and the Persian santoor since the age of five. Aspiring to advance from the mere reiteration of pre-written music, Sam began demonstrating his creative drive by composing his first piano piece at the age of seven. Upon encountering his first synthesizer and drum machine at the age of twelve, Sam fell in love with the unhindered creative power they allowed him. He then spent his spare time experimenting with various musical software and digital instruments in order to explore musical possibilities and better develop his style. Sam\'s drive for originality led him to travel the world, soaking in a rich diversity of music and understanding the threads that tie its universal language. Using his versatile classical training as a backdrop for exploration, he began by composing leftfield, downtempo, and hip-hop beats and eventually came to develop a passion for electronic dance music, a genre in which he found a true outlet for his creative energy. He has since been incorporating his distinct sound in his house, progressive, and trance productions under the alias Unkell Sam, while still experimenting with a variety of other genres. His hobby turned into a dream in 2002 when his music hit the top of the electronica charts after joining MP3.com, the largest online music community at the time. Seeking a better channel to share his music with the world, Sam began spinning a diverse mix of sounds at various venues throughout Northern and Southern California and started Entourage Entertainment™, an event production company in Los Angeles through which he could not only administer the music, but control the atmosphere as well. He hooked up with Groove Radio in 2007, who became a strong supporter of his work upon first listen. Remixes for Paul Oakenfold followed and Sam began releasing tracks to Perfecto Records in 2008. World-wide radio play followed and Sam continues to work on exciting and innovative projects, rocking dance floors all around the world.
