Wimmer's Wilderness show

Wimmer's WildernessJoin Now to Follow

Welcome to Wimmer's Wilderness. We are working to bring greater awareness to our local communities and how important they are. We, as individuals, can have a significant impact on the quality of our communities. I have always wanted to create a way to help bring a little more light on important issues that affect us. I have created a Podcast called Wimmer's Wilderness to give voice to this idea. Wimmer's Wilderness is an informed look at Politics, Community, Government, Environment, and Education from a local perspective. Our regions, states, and countries are simply a collection of local communities working together. If we can make a positive change in our local communities, it will lead to better outcomes at the regional, state, and national levels.

Pod and Market show

Pod and MarketJoin Now to Follow

The “Pod & Market” podcast grew out of several conversations amongst Newarkers, lamenting the decline of traditional forms of media and journalism in Newark (like newspapers) and the lack of a central forum for discussion of issues facing the City of Newark. While not the first or only discussion podcast in Newark, the topics of the podcast can be as general as gentrification and as narrow as the construction of a single building. The only connection between episodes will be their connection to Newark.

Chicago Reader's Back Room DealJoin Now to Follow

Back by popular demand: The Back Room Deal features radio personality and longtime Reader political writer Ben Joravsky arguing local Chicago politics with Reader senior writer Maya Dukmasova. With sharp wit and stinging analysis, Joravsky and Dukmasova cut through the smokey haze of the elections to offer you a glimpse of the 2020 Chicago-area Illinois primary races—local and Cook County-level and, of course, U.S. presidential. Will these historic elections be determined in back-room deals, like so many in Chicago's past? Let Ben and Maya talk you through it.
