| Synopsis:
The greatest adventure of all time begins with Star Trek, the incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind. The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before. |

Star Trek - what a great movie March 21, 2010 AwakeNow.co.uk (UK) Star Trek - what a great movie. I am no trecky nor sci-fi fan, but this movie was really good. I watched the original Star Trek as a kid and thought that this prequel movie hit all the right marks and shows Captain J T Kirks relationship with Spock and how it all came about. Seeing the original Spock was also an added bonus and his wonderful point-um-up ears!
Good effects on the movie, great storyline and many good similarities between the orginal 70s-80s cast and the modern ones for the movie. Enjoyable and worth the watch.
Star Trek March 20, 2010 Walt (Omaha, NE) Many original Trekies don't like this movie but I did. I saw every TV episode and all of the Star Trek movies. This was by far and above the best of the movies. Special effects were great. I've seen it both in DVD and Blu-ray formats. It deserves Blu-ray.
Cheesy March 20, 2010 J. White (New York) Sure do miss the originals. This starts out with loud noise, too much action and general overall chaos. By the time all this was over I was asking myself - and when do we get to the plot.
Not of the quality or character of the original. We didn't like it much.
The glare generation March 20, 2010 Dennis Morse (Chicago-ish) The video and audio quality are great, which makes this lens flare/glare orgy completely unwatchable. If you can tolerate the over abundance of pointless and illogical lens flare/glare then you will be fine watching this movie. All bridge scenes are likely to send anyone even remotely susceptible to flashing lights a seizure.
Great movie March 19, 2010 A.K. Stein I love this movie. I ordered it from closeoutvideo and they sent it to me in very good time. But the disc stalled during the movie and closeoutvideo gave me a refund immediately. What nice people.
