Amazon.com Product Description Wake to the sounds of your favorite iPod tunes with the Emerson iTone iC200BK clock radio. Offering a built-in iPod docking station and Emerson's patented SmartSet auto time-setting system, the iTone is the perfect bedroom, office, or kitchen stereo. The iTone's audio performance starts with its powerful amplifier and matching high-fidelity speakers, which combine to produce the type of high-quality, crystal-clear sound you'd normally expect from a much larger, more expensive audio system. The built-in iPod docking station, meanwhile, lets you play any dockable iPod model-- including the iPod mini, nano, and shuffle--through the system's speakers. The docking station also automatically charges your iPod battery so you won't have to worry about running out of power. Most importantly, you can choose to wake up to any song in your iPod catalog every morning. The iTone iC200BK is easy to use. The digital turner automatically scans the AM and FM bands and locks in stations perfectly with no repetitive fine tuning required. You won't have to struggle to read the time thanks to the 0.6-inch white LED clock display, while the integrated station presets (10 AM and 10 FM) make it a breeze to locate your favorite stations at the touch of a button. The radio frequency also features a dimmer control so you can clearly see your choices. And don't worry about bad overnight weather conditions short-circuiting your alarm, as Emerson's SmartSet automatic time- setting system automatically sets the clock to the correct year, month, date, day, and time the first time you connect the system to your AC outlet and after every power interruption. It even adjusts for daylight saving's time and leap years all on its own. Because everyone has a preference when it comes to deciding when and how it's best to start the day, the iTone iC200BK's unique dual alarm system lets you wake up to your iPod, the radio, or an electronic buzzer that starts softly and gradually increases in volume to wake you gently. It also lets you program one or both alarms for weekdays only, weekends only, or everyday operation. The clock even includes a programmable 99-minute sleep-to-music timer with auto shutoff and a 99-minute nap timer that wakes you after a nap without having to change your regular alarm settings. If you need a little extra sleep in the morning, there's also a snooze alarm that you can activate by pressing the snooze button on the top cabinet or the remote control, or you can simply wave your hand in front of the "touchless" snooze sensor on the front panel. The iTone iC200BK is flexible and versatile, offering both ease of operation and customization options. Thanks to the compact 13-key remote control, you can operate all the major functions of your system from across the room. And if you still want to use some of your favorite devices with the iTone iC200BK, you can take advantage of the included stereo headphone jack and an auxiliary input jack on the back panel, both of which make it a snap to connect older, non-docking iPods, MP3 players, and personal CD players. The iTone iC200BK measures 13.5 by 8.5 by 6.5 inches and comes with a 3-volt battery. What's in the Box Clock radio, remote control, 3-volt battery, user's manual.

Thanks for all the horrible reviews! March 7, 2010 Katiti (Kansas) I picked this up from a local discount store for $30.00. Apparently all the issues people have talked about in poor reviews caused this product to hit the closeout bins. I used a sony cd clock radio for years and wanted a new one to use with my ipod and mp3 players. The mp3 can't be used as an alarm, but it can be plugged in via aux audio cable and it can be charged with a usb connection behind the ipod dock. I actually read the instructions for a change due to all the buttons on the unit. So I discovered the note about turning off the EQ on your ipod. This player is not loud. It's a clock radio, not a full blown stereo. I haven't experienced any of the humming people have discussed. I also don't have an ipod touch (another reviewer commented this unit may not like the newer players). So far I have not had any radio reception problems that I don't have with any other player in my house. In fact, this player picks up my local NPR station better than the other players in the house (2 with external antenna). The alarms work great. As for the snooze sensor, don't aim the clock towards the bed. The unit picks up movement directly in front of the sensor. So, again I say thank you to all the people who had such terrible issues with their players! You guys helped me get a great deal on a fantastic radio!
okay, but could be better September 22, 2009 Harold George Wagner III (Tamaqua, PA USA) I bought this product to charge and listen to my ipod. I barely had it for a year, when the front display cover melted off. (problem with overheating? I'm not blocking any ventilation.) No problem: I will just super glue it back on. Other issues are that the FM stations don't come in that well. Apparently Emerson has never heard of an antenna. They just tell you that it is integrated into the power cord, which is probably one of the laziest ideas I've ever heard! Overall, this product is all right, I even use the Aux function once in a while when I want more bass from my computer. The remote is a great idea, and I use it frequently with the product.

This has to be one of the lousiest products I have ever used. This was given to me as a gift, and I will just be taking it right to the goodwill store. The clock does not set itself as advertised. The buttons are really plasticky. The on-off button doesn't seem to work. But the worst problem is the sound quality.
This is meant to be an iPod speaker dock. It docks, and it plays through the speakers, but it sounds like you are holding a very fluffy pillow over the speakers. Just to be sure there wasn't something wrong with the amplifier, I connected a set of external speakers via the headphone jack, and it sounded fine that way. So its not the amplifier, or the ipod connection at all. Just the speakers. I didn't expect a Bose experience or anything, but the sound was just horrible and unlistenable. Half of the music was inaudible. Worthless.
This is from Emerson- that bastion of mid-80's woodgrained crappy clock radios and cheap walkmans that you could find at the CVS, but now they have the word "Research" attached to their name. Right. Just because it has an ipod dock doesn't mean it sounds good.
Do not purchase this item. It is crap.
Great system March 21, 2009 B. Wertz I was given this as a gift and I use it primarily for my iPod. It works with both the older iPods and the new iPod touch - and the BEST BONUS - it charges the iPod touch (without even having to take off my protective case for it!). It of course charges the older iPods, but it is the only one of my various iPod stereos (for different rooms of the house) that will charge my new iPod touch. Not even my $300 Bose will charge my iPod touch! =( There are also many other options besides iPod use. Great product. Haven't had any problems with it at all. Highly recommend.
A Player For All iPods February 12, 2009 Charles E. Fryar (Chester, VA) I am very pleased with how the Emerson iTone Clock Radio fo iPod functions. It works with all iPods (from the first genertion iPod Shuffle to the latest iPod Nano) and the music clarity is exceptional.
The remote control is an added convenience and I especially like the feature wherein the clock automatically sets to the local time when the unit is unplugged and plugged in again.
The unit is an outstanding value for the price.
