restrictions December 14, 2009 Dr Terry (Bunbury Western Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
was going to subscribe. i am glad i saw the note about not sending pictures overseas. i am in Australia. Kindle is such a great device. Restrictions like this is such a short sighted view on a long term project. dare i say it....let microsoft drive it into the future.
not ready for prime time November 26, 2009 John Dalesandro (Safety Harbor, FL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
this abridged version frequently disappoints. Kindles WSJ edition set high expectations. BW just hasnt risen to the same consistency with its print edition vs Kindle. i am cancelling & going back to old reliably print edition
Very Good Kindle subscription! November 3, 2009 J. Butera (Roseville, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have been subscribing since August and I'm now hooked. The hard copy has nice pictures, graphs & colors but what I really like about the Kindle subscription is that no matter where I am traveling - there it is every Friday. They do still give you the statistics, it's just that they are written out and not in graphic format. I also like that under the article title, they also give you the number of words in the article so you know if it is just a paragraph or one of their more in-depth articles.
The Sections List index is exactly like the hard copy's table of contents dividing the articles under BusinessWeek's six main catagories & it lists how many articles are in each section. So if you typically go to a certain section such as "Business Views", it's easy to go directly there.
Another huge plus is it is much cheaper than the hard copy. At $2.49/month it costs about $30 for a year's subscription. The hard copy publication costs at least double that amount.
Also there are no ads to have to flip through! Give it a few weeks try, it really is a great Kindle subscription.
Great magazine limited format for non-US November 1, 2009 Mike Edward Gallamore 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Pros: A great magazine probably the only one that I can read all the way through. Kindle format very nicely formatted and navigating on a Kindle couldn't be easier.
Cons: No pictures for customers outside the US. Why? 3G is much more available in europe and also much cheaper. Why should people in different areas pay the same price for less content. This magazine has some of the best photography of a business magazine particularly advertisements yet you don't get this from the Kindle version outside the US.
One more disappointed reader October 30, 2009 MAURICIO AGUIAR (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil) 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
I have just bought Kindle 2, international version, with the idea of getting books, magazines, and newspapers delivered to me in Rio/Brazil where I live. Kindle is great but... I was disappointed to learn that, outside of the US, Amazon delivers text-only versions of magazines and papers. This means I would have to read BW and other periodicals without any photos, tables, etc. I don't think I want to buy a subscription with that limitation. I'm adding this review to others like it in the hope that Amazon will hear the "voice of the customer" and do something about it.
